A quick note…

Once upon a time, I had a Palm TX.  I loved it, it was so useful to me.  I had all my music and videos loaded on it, all my schedules, phone numbers, etc.  I even taught it to tether to my cell phone and surf the Internet.  Then somebody stole it.  I was heart-broken.  Out of all the things stolen from my house that day, that was the most personal.  That was two and a half years ago, and I never replaced it or picked up another PDA.  The closest I came was a nice MP3/video player.

Until now.

I now own a Samsung Galaxy S (specifically the 'Captivate' from AT&T).  It does all of that and more and has a much more satisfying user experience.  I am still playing with it and discovering all the possiblities.  I will do a complete write-up in a few days.  Until then, just know that my heart has been healed.

Later!

More good news!

I got accepted into the 'Star Wars: The Old Republic' beta test.  For those of you that don't know, SW:TOR is a Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) set in the, ta da!, Star Wars universe.

I've always loved Star Wars, it was the very first movie I remember watching (I was three years old), and I've enjoyed the not-MMO computer RPGs, like Knights of the Old Republic I and II.  So, I am really looking forward to this time in Beta.  My guess is that it will last at least six months, probably more.  I will keep y'all updated.

Day 3

It's the third of August and I still don't have much to share.  Whatever.  It will be fine.

I got a new phone.  I've been messing with it all evening.  Details will follow.

Just under the wire…

Day 2 of my blog-a-day month, and I've been gone most of the day.  Oops. Anyway, here it is, a blog entry about me blogging about blogging. Blog.  That's all I've got for tonight, here's hoping I've got some better stuff for the rest of the month.  Blog.

NaNoWriMo 2009

I've officially started writing my novel for National Novel Writing Month, though I believe that I shall start dinner as well.  My goal is to get out about 2000 words a day, which, if I truly write every day, will either have me complete the NaNoWriMo challenge by 11/25/2009 or complete 60,000 words, 10,000 more than the challenge.  And, no, while I may be tempted to do so, I will not post my story here as I am writing it.  I'm going to keep it private for a while, until I'm satisfied that it's somewhat readable and make at least a little sense.  Have fun doing whatever it is that you're doing!

Integrating my online world

So, I've linked my Blog with my Facebook account.  I'm hopeful that that will help me to blog more.  I post on Facebook all. the. time.  Now that I've signed up with National Novel Writing Month, I should be writing everyday.  So, hey Facebook friends, feel free to come visit me in my longer-winded, paid blog space.

So, now you know.

Hi, I’m a nerd.

This should not surprise anyone that knows me personally.  I'm a nerd.  Why the sudden proclamation of the obvious?  Well, a friend of mine gave me an old G3 iMac a couple of months ago and I updated it to OSX 10.4.11.  It's *super* slow and the graphics suck, but I went ahead and added WiFi (not Airport) so that I could use it in my library/scary room.  I have absolutely no reason or constructive use for this machine, yet I am exploding with geeky joy to have it up and running.

I am such a nerd.

Huh. Weird.

This is only the second day of my renewed vigor for creative writing and the 100 Themes Boot Camp – and I'm already not going to do it.  I have a toothache.  That's is very nearly the only thing I can think about at this time.  Yes, I had all day to write something, but I used that time to clean my house and cook dinner for a friend.  Then we watched a movie.  Then we talked for a while.  Then she left and I watched another movie.  And now I have a toothache.  I blame the media.

In the meantime, a quarter is going into the "Jar of Shame", which, in this case, is a mug.

Good night, blogosphere!
